ZMD was founded in 1981. For 15 years, ZMD manufactured Vacuum Forming equipment in the same location, Paramount, CA. When we started to reject orders, due to lack of space, we figured out this is the time to move to a new and larger plant.

In July 1996, ZMD International, Inc. was pleased to announce the acquisition of a new 46,000 square foot facility in Long Beach, CA. The building is located at 600 West 15th St. and was purchased outright for the purpose of manufacturing state of the art vacuum forming equipment.

The new plant was a must to allow for the tremendous growth that ZMD has seen in the past years. This beautiful industrial facility more than triples the former manufacturing floor. The increase in order of large machines, in particular Turn Key Projects, and complete manufacturing solutions has made it necessary for us to go into larger quarters. It takes space to set up the manufacturing facilities of an entire factory.

Z.M.D. International, Inc. is a leading manufacturer of vacuum forming equipment since 1981 in both, the USA and throughout the world. In the USA, major companies own our machines such as Northrop Corp., McDonnell Douglas, GE, Bayer, Frigidaire etc. We have machine in 28 countries such as England, Ireland, Spain, Austria, Canada, Israel, New-Zealand, Australia, Korea, Bahrain, Kuwait, China etc.

ZMD takes pride in offering a wide range of standard vacuum forming machines but our major assets is our capability and flexibility to provide custom made vacuum forming machines to meet any of our customers specifications and needs. We have provided many Turn Key Operation systems thus all customer need to do is to push a button and make parts. If customer is capable to define his needs, ZMD is capable to build the entire system, including machine, molds, plastics and process to forming high quality products. All ZMD machines are equipped as standards with many unique systems that are offered as options by our competitors, to make them the most advanced in the industry.

to be sold to the European community.

The increased production floor allows us to dramatically increase the production rate and delivery time. We are manufacturing standard equipment as well as custom machine to meet customers requirements. Customers that purchase standard equipment will receive high quality product at attractive price. Our unique production techniques enable us to manufacture the most complicated custom machine at an unbeaten price and delivery time. ZMD builds more single and double station machines than many other competitors combined. ZMD is a pioneer in thermoforming technology, the first to introduce many innovative products,years ahead of our competitors. ZMD is the first company to introduce:

• a vacuum forming machine that is fully controlled by a PC
• a fully adjustable clamping frame in 4 directions, using no tools or external parts
• a vacuum forming machine fully operated by a robot, including loading, unloading, trimming, and stacking
• a diagnostic capability over the phone, via modem
• and recently, the development of a dedicated machine for the In Mold Decoration Applications （IMD）

Despite these facts, we are committed to keep investing in R&D and the development of new machines and systems. The new building allows us to continue with our efforts, and to have a complete showroom with working models and demonstrators.

There are many new developments that we are successfully implementing, including sheet temperature control, heater temperature PID loop control, In Mold Decoration System, and other process advancements that will keep ZMD vacuum forming equipment well ahead of competition.
